Robin Waxenberg is a veteran of the public relations agency industry with a clear mission: to champion her clients, build upon the relationships that remain the foundation of her business and achieve outstanding results.
She started Robin Waxenberg & Associates (RWA) in 2002 with a strategic vision of building a virtual agency with partners who share her traditional roots and entrepreneurial approach. With the company tagline of “Finding the Right Fit” she is deeply committed to the health and wellness category and, combining a personal and professional passion, for more than two decades has specialized in sports medicine, physical activity and musculoskeletal health. Prior to starting her own agency, she worked for prestigious firms including Manning Selvage and Lee; Edelman Public Relations; Noonan Russo PRESENCE; Dorf & Stanton, Rogers and Cowan; Cohn & Wolfe and Stawasz Healthcare Communications, among others.
Her work today is largely in the not-for-profit arena, affording her a specific advantage in understanding the way member organizations work; how to promote and build upon client platforms; leverage distinctive education, scientific study and opportunistic activities to communicate a client’s messages; and have a full knowledge of industry and how collaborative opportunities and relationships can be developed.
With a can-do attitude and commitment to creativity, Robin’s services include strategic and creative development; national and local market public relations campaign management and execution; media training and crisis communications. The agency works with an extended team of experts in the fields of production, graphic design, traditional and social media placement and digital marketing.
Among her many projects have been several special events and ongoing health and wellness initiatives for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Operation Walk USA, as well as the American College of Sports Medicine, NCAA, U.S. Bone and Joint Decade and the National Physical Activity Plan. Additional campaigns include Acorn Media and its Acacia line of health and wellness DVDs, NIKE’s summer running program, Yoplait Champions for breast cancer awareness and Pfizer Baby Boomer Coalition. She also has worked with leading medical and health care experts to promote their books on related topics.
Previously, she worked with leading consumer brands including TUMS calcium and Ecotrin Aspirin (GlaxoSmithKline), Nivea Skincare Products (Beiersdorf) and the Pillsbury Bake-Off (General Mills) to name a few.
Robin is a graduate of Connecticut College and resides in New York City. She is an avid aficionado of film, ballet, theater and cultural events of all kinds. She also chairs the Auxiliary of Lenox Hill Hospital (LHH), a part of the Northwell Health system including 21 hospitals in the New York City area.
